Benefits of Web-Based Conferencing

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

I recently graduated from college, and instead of taking a corporate programming job, my friend and I started our own web development company. Everything was going great…we were both working from home and enjoying small successes. However, we soon realized that text messaging could only go so far, especially when we hired several employees. Text messaging was slow, and was “noisy” when several people were in a chatroom. We quickly needed a solution. (more…)

Buy and Sell Text Links for your Web Site

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

When buying links you have to know what you want before you buy. You are either going to go for page rank to boost your page rank or trying to gain more publicity. Of course the higher the page rank the higher the cost is going to be. But another option besides page rank is SEOmoz latest tool page strength tool which calculates the strength of the page by different ways besides just Google. So before buying any links I would strongly suggest checking the page strength since it gives the overall value of the site. The tool takes information from total back links, age of domain, pages indexed, Alexa rating and other sources. You don’t want to buy a link just from what people say about their site, believe it or not people do lie. So it is always best to check with some tools to really see what you are buying. (more…)

Monday, February 26th, 2007

Link PopularityLink building has always been a hot topic. In the beginning of the web hyperlinks were virtually the only way to get visitors to a site, because search engines were in their infancy. And today links become increasingly important with the growing significance of the new Web 2.0 social networks. (more…)

Going Google-Eyed: The SEO Disease

Monday, February 26th, 2007

I’m beginning to get the feeling that I’ve been spending too much time online. Just the other day I was leafing through the TV listings only to find myself analysing the keyword density of the film reviews.

I have noticed other strange things going on as well. (more…)

Sometimes it seems that nearly every business has a website. And nearly every business that has a website thinks that having one is all that’s needed to crack that web thing. The thinking is that if we build, they will come.

That’s just not the case and could spell trouble for your business if you’re hoping to use your website to generate sales. (more…)

Are You A Web Marketing Criminal?

Monday, February 19th, 2007

I have been running a number of websites on the internet for about eight years now and feel that in that time I have learnt quite a lot about the different ways to attract additional traffic to these sites. Over the past couple of years I have been helping other people by offering to share this knowledge and ideas of web promotion. I have to say however that I have been amazed at the short term attitude of most of these people, they are very much people who want the pot of gold today and end up using tactics which are basically a way of cheating their way to the top. These tactics do not work over the longer term and these people are what I call web promotion criminals. (more…)
